FOTD: FALL-in' for you

Not a lot of words for this post because I'll let the photos do the talking. I'm not as confident wearing plum on my lips as I would wear an 'out-there' shade of red but the makeup enthusiast in me just had to try it.

I first wore Wet and Wild's Sugar Plum Fairy (said to be dupe for MAC's Rebel) but decided that it was a little too bright for my taste. I toned it down with Revlon Colorburst in Plum which gave a darker tone to my lips. I'm not sure if this Morticia Addams-dark - I suppose it's not because her lipstick looks black-ish to me - but I was shocked at the color and thought it made my cheeks look rounder than usual. :p Hmmm, guess I'll try to pair it with stronger contouring the next time.

Have you worn your Fall lipcolor yet? :)

I hear the word Fall and images of luxe plum lipsticks come to mind. I still feel ambivalent, though, about wearing such a deep lipcolor early in the morning when I step out of the house. It just feels a little too extreme, hehe. It's my goal though to wear plum on my lips next month, when the weather gets a little bit colder and a certain festive mood colors the air.

To ease myself into the whole plum-wearing thing, I decided to mix my plum lippie (Wet 'n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy) with a pinker shade (Wet 'n Wild Mauve Outta Here) for a more muted shade.

And what did I come up with? Ta-da!

Excuse the uneven application. :D

I was really tempted to buy MAC Rebel but I've read reviews that say Sugar Plum Fairy is an excellent dupe. So Sugar Plum Fairy it is for fall! Stay tuned for my plum lips fotd. :)

What's your fall lipcolor?

Late post of FOTD: Trying out Maybelline's Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. :)

I tried to experiment a little bit more with my eyes as I am a complete noob (not to mention klutz!) when it comes to eye makeup. Tried on cream eyeliner for the first time; a little bit of useless information: it's always the liner (especially liquid) that ruins the look for me courtesy of my shaky hands.
